Deck the Halls

It’s beginning to feel a lot like…Thanksgiving? I realize it is a tad bit early, but I officially have my first Christmas decoration up. I just couldn't help myself! It’s fun to have a new house to decorate and besides I just love this time of year.

Our last house didn't have stairs, so this past weekend I went on a hunt for garland to go on the banister. And there was much success – thank you Homegoods. Immediately when I got home mom and I got to work putting it up and it definitely makes it feel like the holidays are here. (Christmas music may have been played. I wish I was kidding.)

It’s no secret that I love sparkles; so that was most definitely a criteria, but I didn't want it to be too much since our banister is relatively small. I think it fits perfectly!

A great thing we picked up for this project was foil twist wire from Hobby Lobby to attach the garland to the railing. The silver makes the ties less noticeable and it has enough flexibility to make it easy to work with, but still secure well.

The one issue: kitty monster. She thinks (and rightfully so) anything that comes into the house must be for her. So she has adopted it as her newest, most fun toy. Luckily she hasn't destroyed/pulled it down yet. Hopefully with our watchful eyes and consistent no’s, she’ll lose interest soon!

If you haven’t yet, head on over to Facebook and like our page. Only 3 more “likes” before there is another giveaway!!!

Stay tuned for more Christmas decorating and holiday cheer!

Xoxo, Christie
